I will not write Vietnam War horror. I will not write Vietnam War horror. I will not write Vietnam War horror. I will not write Vietnam War horror. I will not write Vietnam War horror.

I will not write Vietnam War horror...this weekend.

But it works so well!

Research does not count as writing, so I tell my busy schedule. I can research to my heart's content! And then next week I can write it.

There's nothing wrong with Vietnam horror but you'd have to be really careful not to tread where Peter Straub has already gone. A significant amount of his work comes from that area.

Really? I've never read him.

I'm thinking of a short that involves the origins of the nation and the war - my mom saw a movie last night that I guessed (wrong) on the ending and I think my ending's cooler.

He's quite good, one of my favorites most of the time. He's a hell of a lot more subtle than King.

Koko is the one that deals most extensively with the war, although Mystery and the Throat touch upon it as well. I'll dig around- if I have anything of his here, I'll pass it along as he's worth reading at least once, I think.

Excellent. I'm thinking of a short for this - all his stuff is novels, yes?
