If you happen to come across it, I recommend purchasing a long-handled coffee scoop like this one. I found one by chance at Starbucks and have fallen in love with it. The long handle means not getting your knuckles covered in coffee when you get it out of a thin bag.

Just note that if you get one like this it's a 2-Tbsp scoop, instead of just 1-Tbsp, so it's good for every two cups of water. I actually like this better because I almost always make an even numbered cups of coffee + that .5c water at the end.
