See, that's the irony. I've never been interested in doing them either, partly because I tend to have a reaction to drugs stronger than Tylenol that ranges from "bad" to "really very, very frighteningly bad, please don't kill me", so I just steer clear. But it's definitely a way into an aesthetic that I like - gritty, bleak, that sort of thing.

Fear and Loathing is great. Hunter S. Thompson can be really quite cool.
