I'm going to wait for the moment, but I'm definitely going to seek a second opinion at some point. This may be waiting for a tooth to fall out, but there's not much I can do at the moment other than get a second opinion, and it seems reasonable to wait for it to start happening - since I'll have lots and lots of notice when it DOES - before I take drastic actions.
And maybe in that time frame I'll get a sense of whether or not he's truly a pessimist.
