Here via icarusancalion (am also a Seattleite and was curious). I could have written most of this post--I'm the same with wanting to know why so I can have closure/undersand, and also with the writing of letters that can't be mailed. I tend to burn mine sort of ritually, usually at the new year or on a significant date.
