Aw fuck, I ate my weekend.

I have to get a book proofread by Tuesday. I have to work on ANOTHER book to copy-edit by the middle of September, but as the managing editor put it, "Seven different stories by seven different authors, so seven sets of bad habits!" Yay, excited like whoah.

I WANT to get my OWN stuff proofread so I can figure out where to send it. Am debating between "When" and "Elves" for Interzone, but I can't actually track down a copy of Interzone to find out which would be better - Elves might be more obviously scifish, though they're both pretty fantasy, but I think that When is the better piece because yeah, I'm all fucked up and shit. And I want to write some more stuff this weekend.

I have that reunion to go to, for which I'd like to achieve a shirt tonight - I have two more stops on my list before I scream "Fuck it" at the top of my lungs and wear a garbage sack. And I'm not even sure I'm GOING. Also, because it turns out that I'm not as over high school as I thought I was, I have to get my ears pierced again tonight. Yay.

And I'm working on Monday. Oh, yeah, and going drinking with McArcus on Sunday. Does anyone else see the problem here? HOPEFULLY it will be slow and I can just write, but I don't do so well trying to write with an internet capable computer anywhere in the vicinity.

AND, last but not nearly least, I have shit to plot for specific mags that I want to submit to. But once THAT'S done, I've got to write it! Yay! Can I just plug a computer into my head and dictate to it???

So, basically, I have tomorrow prior to five pm, probably nothing of Saturday, Sunday prior to eight pm, and nothing of Monday to do a whole bunch of shit in.

What happened to nothing?

Oh, yeah, and I have fucking 9th edition incrementals on my desk now. This is on top of being the only person evidently interested in actually proofing, but since everything in is book covers, it's fast.

Still waiting for that Nick Stahl/Norman Reedus/Angelina Jolie orgy in my apartment. Cause for that, I'd miss an entire weekend. Oh yes I would. And so would you.

Barring that, I might dye my hair purple this weekend. FOR NO REASON AT ALL. *shifty eyes*

Which one is "When"? Probably the one more sci-fi oriented would be better.

You should be able to order an online copy of Interzone through ttapress.com.

Or rather, more specifically- http://projectpulp.com/search_results.asp?searchstring=interzone&imageField.x=54&imageField.y=7BBR-distribution - should give you a place to buy it!

I'll check that out. Someone suggested Bulldog Press, but I don't want to drive to the U-District if I can't get it there. Of course, given gas prices, I don't want to drive ANYWHERE unless I'll have success when I get there.

And neither of them is very scifi, but I suppose when is more fantasy. It's a war/coming of age story. I really should put it up, but I've been sort of hoping to throw an ending on it before I do that. It has to end, right?

Bear in mind this is the 2K story that's approaching 7K (or might even be past it). Like Topsy, it just growed.

Also, because it turns out that I'm not as over high school as I thought I was, I have to get my ears pierced again tonight.

This is the reason why I avoid "friends" reunited and any kind of of reunion thing. It is becoming increasingly apparent to me that there are certain elements of my secondary education which I am unlikely to ever get over, and I will just have to live with that.

I find it difficult to imagine that anyone else who attended your high school is as splendid and interesting as you are.

Well, I did manage to get in touch with two people that I wanted to talk to, and other than that, I avoided talking to anyone else. It was really quite nice.

Oh, unless I could insult them. But I only went for the two, and we had a very good time.

We have become splendidly interesting people both of us! Who in our secondary schools can compete?

Excellent. I might send something your way for perusal at your leisure. We shall see if I finish it this weekend, though it won't be moving out any time soon, so not a great rush. And I'm assuming that "anything" translates to "fiction"...

no really, anything.

books with pictures of naked girls are always popular.

Unless you expect me to fold up a book and shove it through a dataline, I need an address to send it to.

I will be checking that the zip code is not secretly in New Orleans, too.

Book? You mean one of those analog things with paper and stuff. Catch up with the 21st Century, woman!

DO NOT MOCK MY PRIMITIVE WAYS. MY CULTURE IS PROTECTED BY, UM, LOTS OF ORGANISATIONS. IT IS IN DIRE NEED OF PROTECTION FROM PHILISTINES SUCH AS YOU.

No, the International Foundation for World Heritage and Stone-Tablet Writing Protection Foundation Charity. Of course.

And YOU said "book" first. I wasn't aware (though I probably should have) that books with naked girls were digitised first.

Which IM is this? I've been hanging about on Y! lately - all the cool kids are there. But I'll be on a computer tonight with an IM capability.
