Now that I have the WotC job that I practically sweated blood and tears over, I don't seem to care. But it seems worth mentioning that the offer has been made and accepted.

So in May, I'm off vacation. Which sucks. Now, of course - it didn't suck at the time.

Congratulations! Well, I think so anyhow. Did they offer you decent pay & benefits, I hope?

Not yet, but I'm having trouble tracking the HR person down. My mom commented that I just have this zen look as I say "It's Wizards' way of doing business" when she asks why I still am going to take the job.

You around tonight at all? Ping if you are...I am on. I seem to have gotten out of the habit of communicating with you, which sucks.

Ditto with the congrats? ;) Enh, it seems like WoTC is the only company doing any serious hiring around here lately... or maybe it's just the kind of people I hang out with... o.O

icon delight!/it's a good day for icons. Did you see 'Yarrow's? Awesome.

I think it might be the latter. But definitely there's been a dearth in the paper - my parents keep saying "What about this job?" and I keep saying "It's a recruiting company and they don't actually hire anyone. Like, ever."

WotC's worth working for, if you can get a job with them before they change their minds about hiring it. The joys of private-sector employment.

Congratulations! My seething envy of you remains pretty much constant ;)

I triumph again by ensuring someone has seething envy! *g*

Hopefully with laughter. I saw that one and nearly peed myself laughing, so I had to steal it.

Ooh! Would you like my list of WotC complaints now or later?

;-)

From: [identity profile] channonyarrow.livejournal.com

Go for now. I'll answer them with the inside scoop on what the complaints should be.

I used to amaze people in England by joining in their bitching about Bush with the points they'd never thought of. Then they'd be surprised (this was when Chelsea Clinton was making a total twat of herself in England, if you heard about that) that there was an American who could criticise their own government. But then, in this wacky post-9/11 world, America is Borg.

Back from Edinburgh

Hey - just wanted to say congratulations! Just got back to read these good news!! Why don't you like the job anymore, though? I can see how you have bad moments after a year (I am a bit moody right now - not with the job but aspects of it), but BEFORE you even started it??

Re: Back from Edinburgh

It's not the job I don't like, it's just the offer that I wasn't excited with. I kind of did my ubercool "I knew I'd get it" routine, ignoring all the angst and panic about how I wasn't going to get it.

Am quite looking forward to starting work, actually.
