KILL ME, I NEED CONTENT BACK.

That said, two more memes. And, um, I'll resolve my personality conflict about content sometime real soon, or similar. I'm not sure why I make these promises, when I know perfectly well that a) no one cares (this is not where everyone runs and says OMG I DO TOO CARE) and b) I will wind up saying the same thing all over again in three months.

The first meme, from [livejournal.com profile] laurel714: Explain your Live Journal name and its meaning. When you're done, tag as many people as there are letters in your name.

Channon Yarrow is a character in Transmetropolitan. She's rather tall (as I am) and starts out the series as a journalist apprentice of sorts to Spider, then fucks off away after he gets all Spider all over her life. When she returns, she becomes his bodyguard, since he's acquired, in the intervening time, Yelena Rossini, who has taken the journalist apprentice role.

When I made my lj, I was trying to take other nicknames, but every variation of Cass that I could stand was taken, and steppinrazor3 (and variations thereof) was as well. Channonyarrow was my third choice, and I thought of it partly because I really like the character (and the series), but also partly because there was something of a joke at the time that I was a friend's bodyguard. Someone who behaved very badly to her was living in mortal terror of me, despite having never met me, because I was going to go put the fear of god into him if he didn't learn manners, and damn quickly.

I am pleased to report that he learned manners. But it is a role that, I think, I step into easily, partly from the sheer intimidation factor of someone my height and partly from the protectiveness I can feel towards friends. It doesn't hurt that Transmet is sheer genius - after having to explain for the last ten years that my email address is a reference to Neuromancer and I hate Neuromancer with a burning passion, it's nice to have my journal be a reference to something I like and respect and have no qualms about recommending.

As you might imagine, I have a LOT of people to tag, having THIRTEEN LETTERS in my name. Agh agh agh. And I am not tagging anyone whose name I already know the origin of (which leaves out, like, everyone I know in real life).

Tagging:
[livejournal.com profile] nullstr
[livejournal.com profile] skibinskaya
[livejournal.com profile] 40hex
[livejournal.com profile] isotripy
[livejournal.com profile] exairian
[livejournal.com profile] niburu33
[livejournal.com profile] hammerheadshrk (though I have a vague memory of you explaining this, I can't find it. Am I crazy?)
[livejournal.com profile] nebris
[livejournal.com profile] adellyna
[livejournal.com profile] germankitty
[livejournal.com profile] thisdaywefight
[livejournal.com profile] woodra
[livejournal.com profile] gillen

And a second meme, because I promised. From [livejournal.com profile] jkivela, First ten people to comment on this entry get free drabbles from me. You pick the content and everything. Then post this and do the same in your journal. (And [livejournal.com profile] jkivela had it as doodles, but, seriously, my drawing skills are the Vortex of Suck +5, so I changed it.)

I make no promises on date done or anything else. But you will get what you ask for. And if you ask for fan stuff, I reserve the right to clarify what I know well enough to write for - anyone who asks for SGA or Buffy will be smote mightily. Chances are, if it's on television, I don't know it. Except Homicide. I know Homicide.

My name has a rather simple explaination. i was using an older journal during the first wave of Lord of the Rings fanticism. as an english lit. major and a life long fan of Tolkien, i decided to create a new journal to show that. so "thisdaywefight" is a reference to RotK when Aragorn yells it near the end. i would have preferred sometime directly related to the books, instead of the movies, but "thisdaywefight" sounded too cool to pass up.

I KNEW it sounded familiar, but I COULD NOT place where in my head! Like, sounded familiar, in the sense of every time I thought about it, I heard someone SAYING it, which is not par for the course for my experience of journal names.

(Also, I think it's totally awesome too.)
