My hair is breaking off and/or falling out. I think that means it might possibly be time to lay off the hair dye, which, really, just pisses me off.

Other than that, not a whole lot to say. Or rather, a lot of things to say, but no time to put them into coherent order. Things like how video cameras at stoplights are a) an invasion of privacy and b) not the solution to the problem of people running red lights because nannystating is never the solution to the problem - people need to do things because they're right, not because they're going to get caught.

And I'm way behind on commenting and shit, and I'm also completely doing something I said I'd never, ever, ever do. AND I'm dressed like a scenester. Again. It's like the trifecta of shit things to be doing. Go me. I suck so hard.

I'm pretty sure it's actually from the bleach. Not being a three-armed, twelve-eyed beholder sort of creature and being forced to use the mirror, I'm fairly slapdash with such things, so I intensely-bleached right along the part in my hair and actually had like a quarter-sized spot where it all broke off about half an inch up, and the rest of my hair seems similarly fuckered. I'm using the best bleach I can, but it IS still bleach, so not really great for the hair no matter what. I wanted the blue and purple to really pop well and they did, but...man. It's depressing to brush your hair and have it just kind of fall all over the place.

Not sure whether it will be more fun to just lay off the bleach and colour for a couple months till it all grows out or if I should do the smart thing and attempt to get it back to some semblance of the right colour so that I don't look like a clown. On the other hand, the right colour is mid-brown, and that's NOT going to cover up all this blue. And green. And black. So...to strip the colour out one last time or to not, that's my dilemma.

I think if you use some serious reconstructive conditioners first, you should be okay. That's all I had to do to stop the breakage when my started coming off in the shower as I was rinsing the bleach out.

I'll try that. What ones did you have good luck with? I was using Redken's colour extend which is certainly a cut above my normal shampoo and conditioner, but stopped because it wasn't doing its colour-extendy-job. And also because it got left behind in Indianapolis.

I seem to remember Aussie stuff being pretty good- they used to have some individual packets of intensive reconstructive stuff at drug stores. If not, their 3 Minute Miracle isn't bad.
