God, I'm not even five hundred words into this, I think it's shit - really, I think it's shit because the pov character sounds like EVERY OTHER POV CHARACTER I WRITE - and I don't know what I'm doing.
Got potential course schedule today, presumptive on (for my reference):
1) Getting unofficial transcript from Evergreen so I don't have to take the COMPASS test.
2) Getting official transcripts from Evergreen and Oxford so I can hopefully knock off fifteen-twenty credits (ahahahaha, you think I took a math class, HAHAHAHAHAHA.)
3) Getting CSC 100 waived because otherwise I will stab everyone in the world if I have to go be introduced to the internet.
4) Getting someone other than me to pay for the lot.
And so, in theory my spring quarter, if this turns out to be what I do and I do not in fact MOVE TO VERMONT, will be:
CTN 160: Web Production I
CTN 120: Databases I
CTN 131: Intro to Computer Programming.
And then I will have TWO YEARS of this to do, oh god why I am setting myself up for this and also do I REALLY think I should take fifteen credits (ie, full course load, I guess) of computing in one quarter. I should probably drop one of those and stick in one of the art credits I need to get out of the way. Like, say, ART 111, Drawing.
I have 103 credits to get through for this (because even if I'm allowed to drop CSC I have to take five credits of elective.) This is a completely insane idea. You guys, I will be THIRTY FOUR when I am done with this, and coming up QUICK on THIRTY FIVE.
ALSO. There is NO CHANCE that this will be covered under worker retraining - it's hard to argue that you've got two degrees from prestigious schools and you speak English fluently so therefore you need the state to pay for this because you are a special flower indeed. I mean, I'm gonna APPLY for the worker retraining funds, but GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE. Go team me!
Oh god, great. I have a total midlife crisis going on. BRB, need cake. Or something. Because gaining 200 lbs in cake-weight is better than realising that a) I am OLD and b) I am PATHETIC and c) I am VILE and d) I am IMMORAL. I think I've sufficiently explained all these things in this post.
ETA: JFC mean home value in Rutland VT is NINETY EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS. I think the last time a house in King County cost $98,000, it was MADE OF CARDBOARD.
