Wizards job? Is mine.

Start tomorrow. This may fuck things up with Kinko's, but...who the fuck cares? And I've got to sort out something with transportation for the next two weeks.

EDIT: Am v. pleased, actually, as this means that recent Ridiculous Expenditure Of Money may actually work out all right. There was Animal Factory, the drug book box set, Pyramids by Pratchett, and Big And Rich (v. good, am going to do review when I have it lodged in my head) yesterday, and today I restrained myself and only bought a Ravenclaw tshirt from Hot Topic because well, Ravenclaw rocks even more than Slytherin.

My theory is proven. To get a job, do not act like you NEED the job.

PIMPCOAT OF EDIT: And then I went out and bought Triplets of Belleville, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Tough Luck, and X2. Shoot me.

Know you do not know me, but must ask this--where did you get your user icon? Beautiful, beautiful moment. :)

From: [identity profile] exairian.livejournal.com

hehehe. well my boy downloaded the commercial and then made the icon for me. i likes very much!

Nah, just leftover Briticisms. I HOPE there's gaming stuff, but no idea. And as they're making me sign a confidentiality agreement...I doubt it.

From: [identity profile] exairian.livejournal.com

doesn't mean you won't get free new stuff. just means you can't tell me about the spiffy new cards! :P

actually i don't play anymore anyways, so i'll leave you alone about it. ;)

Yeah, I feel kind of like a dork since I've never played Magic, but they've got loads of other stuff that they do too, it looks like. Some of which might be useful. *g*

I'll always be a Slytherin, but I can appreciate the other houses... :)

I have Issues with Wizards, but hopefully, they're less bastard-like with their employees than with their retail centers and their game design department. Go you for the new job. Hope it works out.

Oh, I'm probably Slyth to the core, but I am amused by Ravenclaws. *g*

And as to Wizards...fortunately, I've not had to deal with them in any aspect before. But I've a friend in England (ironically enough) whose brother works at Wizards. And he says it's good. Looks good too.

And thanks!

Good work there!

And look, I know you've always maintained that the last thing I should ever do is leave the UK for the USA, but if you hear of any other jobs going at Wizards on the grapevine...

Shall definitely pass it on. They don't seem to post on their website for employment (although if I were them, given their client base, I'd have two websites) so it must be a pretty specific thing and hopefully that's "pass it around the office."

Congratulations! So happy for you. *hugs*

Hehe. Ravenclaw rocks!

From: [identity profile] orionnoire.livejournal.com

Yes, and so would you. Too bad we're not the same age; imagine Potions classes... *veg*

From: [identity profile] channonyarrow.livejournal.com

That. Would. Be. So. FUNNY!

*dies laughing*

That would be awesome!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You bloody well deserve it.

(You're absolutely right about the theory. In fact, it applies to practically everything. I am firmly convinced that I got into Cambridge because at the time I didn't want to go, and so was very relaxed and just chatted away about things, while everyone else cried.)

From: [identity profile] channonyarrow.livejournal.com

You know, thinking about it, you're absolutely right. I got into Oxford when I didn't think I would at all.

Hm. I like it!

Were I to attempt to follow that logic to its conclusion, I'd be trying to join the Rockettes right now. Or the Jesuits.

Explains being accepted by Loyola Marymount back in the day, when UC fucking Irvine didn't want me. Pppffft, bygones.

Belated congrats anyway!

(Been wrestling with my PC, of late. And losing.)

But it does mean you have to be very careful not to care about ANYTHING. ;-)
