So I finally saw Order of the Phoenix last night, months and months after anyone gives a shit, and all I have to say, really, other than "Thanks for finally getting it right and not COMPLETELY abridging the book to the point of ridiculous!" is "Moar Tonks plz."

I loved the way they did her morphing. It rocked.

Also, the movie totally held my attention through a cranky child's bitchfit - the same child (and bitchfit) that meant that I had no understanding AT ALL of what PotC III was actually about - so props to the movie.

You just saw it? Wow... times change, huh?

We did like this one too. Though I always thought Umbridge should be larger.

I don't know, I kind of liked her tiny evil. Though I did wish they would have got the Fred and George scene right.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I didn't really have anyone to go with for it, and there wasn't much point in making a fuss about it, so I let it slide and let it slide - also, DH fucked me off - and now I feel like I'll be there front and centre for HBP.

Oh, she was good, just not what I imagined.

Yeah, I'd have liked more Fred & George. I also really didn't like the scene with tons of students writing lines with those bloody quills. I thought it was much cooler in the book where it was Harry's personal punishment.

I'm rereading (or listening) them again now, on HBP at the moment. I got the British version of DH for my birthday, so want to see if that edition is better.

Tonks' transformations were great. I hope they'll ignore her losing her metamorphamus powers in HBP.

I just wish we'd had the full Worst Memory scene, but since they showed it during Occlumency lessons it would've been odd to have glimpses of memories and out of nowhere a 5 minutes sequence. 8/

What did you think of Luna?

Luna was a LOT better than I expected, particularly given that I think the character is a complete Mary Sue - Rowling sent her adult self back to school and told them, basically, that she doesn't care what they think of her; that's my belief of where that character comes from - and in the movie she was really perfect, sort of dreamy, very sweet, very nice, and very much matter of fact. There's a lot of camping her up in the rpg world, and that's not at ALL appealing, because people tend to play her as a rather stupid slut (a la Paris Hilton) and I was worried that somehow that would be what the director and casting person would take away. She was very understated and just perfect. I loved watching her skip around the school, which is completely less silly than you think it would be when you realise someone has to make this happen on screen. She was marvellous.

I hope they ignore that too - I want more of Tonks. I fell in love the second she flashed red at Moody when he called her Nymphadora and was constantly watching for her changing hair - very well done, very natural looking!

And I COMPLETELY agree on the Worst Memory scene. It would have been awkward to have the full-on memory, and this way, at least, you got the sense of it. Also, the kid they picked for Young!Snape was perfect, and very sad. But I have a soft spot for bullied people, having been one myself.

I liked Luna in the books. She reminded me of a girl I went to school with and had a huge crush on. 8")

I don't see how Luna from the books can be interpreted as any sort of Paris Hilton. But then, Ginny went from falling asleep during World Cups to bestest player evar OMG! *headdesk*

I agree completely, she was very sweet and understated. I adored her. 8D Evanna Lynch did a wonderful job.

I'm hoping there's enough going on with Snape, Draco, DD and the backstory from hell to justify dropping that part of the plot. They dropped S.P.E.W. so one can hope.

I can't wait to see more of him in the DH Pensieve memories. But then, I'll probably be distracted from bawling my eyes out after Snape's death to really notice on the first dozen watching.
